Each patio suite has two parts -- an
inside area and an outside area, which are separated by a dog door. This type of
arrangement is also known as an indoor/outdoor run.
Because concrete is the only really cleanable surface, our
dog suites have all-concrete floors both inside and out. To give your dog a sense of
security from his next-door neighbor and to protect his health, each patio suite is
separated from the next by a solid wall, inside and out.
The gates and other fencing, custom-designed for us by a
nationally known firm which makes only kennel enclosures, are the finest available
anywhere -- completely smooth, with tightly strung fabric and small mesh on all gates.

For extra security, every patio is partially or totally
top-covered with fence panels to thwart a would-be fence jumper or climber. And to
complete the picture, the patio is fully protected from the rain and the heat of the sun
with a roof which extends several feet beyond the patio suites.
Since our suites and doors are extra large for your
pet’s comfort, we are easily able to accommodate any size or breed of dog.
ANIMAL INN provides clean, comfortable bedding which is washed
daily for sanitary purposes.
24-HOUR
SECURITY
Our top-quality facilities contain apartments for live-in around-the-clock
attendants. ANIMAL INN has one or more attendants on the premises
at all times. Among other things, their duties include letting the dogs
out into the outdoor runs late in the evening. Bedding and water are
re-checked, and at bedtime the dogs are brought back in for the night.
FEEDING & MEDICATION
All dogs are fed the type of dog food and the number of meals to which they are accustomed
at home. Our regular menu consists of palatable premium dry food plus canned foods.
Because we make sure all pets eat, weight loss is a very unusual occurrence; many pets
gain weight during their stay at ANIMAL INN. Medications are administered between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., free of
charge. Once-daily medications are given with the evening meal unless otherwise.
specified; other medications are given as directed. Fresh water is available at all times.
GROOMING
ANIMAL INN provides bathing and grooming for dogs at very reasonable
rates. Our services include bathing, dipping, nail trimming, and haircuts.
We try to return all our four-legged guests to their families as clean
and odor-free as possible.
PAMPERING
Pampering for dogs is a very popular special treat available on request for a modest fee.
Each pampering session consists of 10 to 15 minutes of individual playtime with a member
of our staff. Dogs are usually pampered in our large yards where they can enjoy running
free and chasing a ball or frisbee -- or doing whatever else you specify during these
periods. The frequency and content of pampering sessions are your choice.
DAILY INSPECTION
Each dog is carefully checked numerous times daily for general behavior, eating habits,
activity level, elimination, attitude, etc., by our heavily experienced staff. Immediate
action is taken if any health problem is noted.
VETERINARY SERVICES
We make every effort to contact your veterinarian should the need arise, since he or she
knows your dog and has the appropriate medical records. If your veterinarian is
unavailable, we contact one of several that are available to us on a 24-hour basis.
FLEA & TICK
CONTROL
Incoming dogs are normally treated for fleas and ticks with a gentle
but effective pyrethrin product for a modest charge. If there are reasons
the dog should not be dipped/sprayed, the owner may bring Advantage
for the dog and apply it in our presence. We deflea dogs the year round
because the flea season in Houston never ends. Our dips and sprays can
safely be used along with any other flea control agent.
IMMUNIZATIONS
We require proof of immunization within three years
for Rabies/DHLP and Parvo. If your
vet recommends additional immunizations or greater frequency, please
follow his advice – he knows your pet and his vaccines.
We also require proof within one year of a Bordatella / Parainfluenza
vaccine to provide protection against common contagious varieties of
tracheo-bronchitis (a.k.a. "canine cough", "kennel cough",
etc.) caused by airborne viruses. The vaccines are highly effective
but not 100%. Please consult your veterinarian.
HOLIDAY BOARDING
On major holidays Animal Inn sometimes uses very large cage space for
the very smallest dogs staying with us. Those dogs occupying cage space
are taken outside for exercise multiple times per day and receive a
great deal of hands-on care and attention.
CHECKING ON YOUR DOG -- 
We have an 800 number which you may use to check on your dog when you are away. The

available everywhere except within local area codes 713 and 281.
